White cake

White cakes are a kind of dessert cake that incorporates all the basic ingredients of a traditional cake like wheat flour, eggs, sugar and butter except that the egg white is used here instead of whole eggs. Other ingredients like different kinds of dried fruits like raisins, currants, cherries are added to make the white cake tastier.
Sometimes a leavening agent like yeast or baking powder is added while many methods do not advocate the use of these agents and depend on the water present in the mixture (dough) to help the cake to increase in volume.
Different types of toppings are used for white cake. However, traditionally no color or colored ingredient is used. The usual toppings include butter cream or marzipan.
